The Guide to Graduation Parties

Every year around this time, students put on their caps and gowns to receive the diploma they’ve worked so hard far. After the processional ends and those same caps are thrown in the air – graduation parties commemorating these incredible milestones begin! This is the time for family and friends to congratulate the grad for their achievements and show how proud they are. No matter what chapter the graduate(s) in your life is closing, there is always reason to celebrate! Whether you are hosting a graduation party or attending one, I’ve put together some inspiration for your planning or shopping endeavors!

Hosting a Graduation Party

1. Photo Progression
A timeline of photos from when your grad was young until their graduation day allows guests to take a look into the past and see all that they have accomplished! It also makes for a great feature wall or photo booth back drop!

How adorable are these candy graduation caps? They are the perfect handheld dessert and you can package them up and send guests on their way with this sweet treat! Did I mention how easy that are to make?

3. The Key to Success Theme
Can you guess why I chose this theme? Well yes, my obsession with keys, but also because it’s such a unique theme for a graduation party! Have guests share their “keys” to success with your grad, create a board that holds key words to achieve success, or create favor bags for your guests to bring home.

Gifts for the Graduate

1. For the Traveler
This adorable Henri Bendel passport cover will have the new grad traveling in style – where ever the wind takes them!

2. For the Gym Obsessed
Have your grad go from workout to office with this Mark & Graham monogrammed gym bag. It has enough space to double as a weekender for a quick trip out of town!

3. For the Cook
This William Sonoma iPad stand and speaker is perfect for the culinary graduate. Help keep their gadgets clean and within reach while they whip up their next yummy creation!

4. For the Finance Guy
The Bull and The Bear are symbolic representations of the upward and downward financial market trends. These cufflinks are the ideal gift for the grad heading to Wall Street!

5. For the Planner
As a planner myself, I have a small obsession with anything that will keep me organized. The Simplified Planner is not only filled with everything your grad needs to keep their details in one place but it’s super cute too!

6. For the Adventurous Type
The Go Pro is the best way to keep up with your grad on all of their crazy adventures! Whether it’s skiing in Vermont, surfing in Cali, or exploring different cities, give them the opportunity to record their travels from a different view point!

7. For the “I’m Not Sure What to Get Them”
Still not sure what to get your grad? Instead of stuffing a card with cash, try these DIY money balloons! Start by purchasing a couple of clear balloons filled with confetti (in their school colors!). Add rolled bills into one balloon before blowing up. In another, add a rolled note to the graduate. Pair with a third balloon for decoration!

  1. They’re less probably drooling because the couple look at your ID, and additionally they’ll cause you to feel much like the sum of
money you are having to pay is definitely worth entering their establishment.
